Four electric induction melt furnaces supply 200 tons of melt a week, per shift. Types and grades of iron and steel that can be produced include the following:

Gray Irons
    ASTM A48
    Classes 20, 30, 35,
    40, 50, and 60

    SAE J431
    Grades 2500, 3000,
    3500, & 4000

Ductile Irons
    ASTM A536
    Classes 60-40-18 (D6H),
    65-45-12 (D6),
    80-55-06 (D8),
    100-70-03 (D10)

    SAE J434C
    Grades D-4018, D-4512,
    D-5506, D-7003

Ni-Resist Irons
    ASTM A436
    Classes 1 thru 6 (all)

Ductile Ni-Resist Irons
    ASTM A439
    Classes D2, D2B, D2C, D3,
    D3A, D4, D5, D5B

White Irons
    ASTM A532-80
    Classes I thru III (all)

Ni-Hard Irons
    ASTM A532
    Types 1 thru 4 (all)

Melt composition is continually checked on the melt deck using thermal analysis. A ten element spectrometer analyzes each heat to assure the proper composition of all gray and ductile iron.
